black drops of misery,
streaming darkness through me
piercing pain that strikes my gut,
brings me to my knees
to surrender.

clouded eyes trying to see
through the misty storm,
running through the rain.
if only i can reach you,
i shall be safe.

but there is no place in the world
safer than my grief.
and no feeling greater than my pain.
